The Action Control Neck - Taylor Guitars

In it’s 51st year operating as one of the world’s leading acoustic guitar manufacturers, Taylor Guitars debuted a new technological innovation in guitar building: The Action Control Neck.

The goal was to showcase this innovation from Taylor, without filming too much of the inside of the guitar. This new innovation allows guitar techs and players to raise or lower the action of their guitar (a tedious process) with a simple twist of a screw.

Hosing the tech portion was Rob Magargal (Service Network Manager and guitar expert with 30+ years of experience) and Host Mike Venezia. The storytelling content featured CEO & Master Guitar Designer Andy Powers, the inventor of this new innovation.

This was a more involved shoot, as it featured a huge technological innovation from Taylor Guitars. It was fun playing with colorful lighting and multiple camera angles to make these talking heads feel engaging, but also to capture enough of the tech process so that it would be easy to understand. Working with a probe lens is always exciting too!
